The September Issue: Anna Wintour has really beautiful clothes and oh yeah, isn’t the devil incarnate

The September Issue

I went to see The September Issue last Saturday at the newly revamped Cinemapolis in downtown Ithaca and LOVED it. Here are my main take-aways:

-Anna Wintour had the most beautiful dresses. I don’t think she ever wore pants. And she doesn’t usually wear her dresses with tights – I don’t do that either. If you have legs, show ‘em!

-Grace Coddington really did steal the show – I love how she’s not afraid to stand up to Anna and demand to be heard.

-Anna Wintour’s daughter, Bee Shaffer, is SO pretty.

The documentary wasn’t slow, but it’s definitely something only people who are truly interested in fashion would find entertaining. It’s really just an encapsulation of what goes on in the Vogue offices when they prepare for the famed September Issue. And a brief glimpse into Anna’s personal life. Nothing terribly engaging goes on, but it’s a realistic look at their world.

I found it fascinating, and I loved seeing all the beautiful pictures, clothes, and locations flash on-screen.

Below is my favorite picture from the film of a jumping photographer and model. Both people were actually shot separately jumping up and photoshopped together so that it looked like both jumped up simultaneously.

Here are some more shots of Anna and her beautiful dresses – she’s very into florals and tiny, beaded necklaces.
